Suzz Day2/3

Nearly forgot this post, made the tag a few days ago. So as I didnt have any of the Paperartsy stamps Suzz I have to improvise, taking inspiration from what Suzz had done on both days.   I had a mountboard tag I had already background painted, dont know what colour, probably a combination of what was left on my craft sheet. Then stamped using various stamps from HP1010, using Inky Pool and Snowflake mainly and mixing and also some stamping in Black Versafine.  I stamped the flower and words on the metal from my ages old stash added the wire and metal leaves from my jewellery stash, and there it is!! Hope you like.

Suzz Challenge Day 1

Loving the new challenges over at Paperartsy.  The first one this week from Suzz involved shaving foam.  That involved a trip to the shops for me, well I came back with shaving gel, thats no good shops again to get the right stuff.  Yes it is messy but I did it in a plastic box lid so less messy.  The paint I used was Fresco French Roast, Inky Pool and Claret.  Love the pieces they are all so different. Stamped over this piece with the cogs mini from Paperartsy, then used the mini flim strip, using Archival Sepia, die cut the TH clock face and stamped the bikes from HPXT05 and there it is.

Pan Pastels Challenge

I am going to enter a different blog this week have been going to enter this one or a while, but never quite get round to it, so this is the week.  This card I have made for my Grandson for Easter. It is difficult to think of something to do, he is too old for pretty pretty, so I thought these little chicks would be fun.  To look at the Pan Pastels site here is the link: http://panpasteluk.blogspot.co.uk/

A canvas Inspired by Linda

As it is a horrid, snowy, cold day I have time to do a Linda Inspired Canvas.

Canvas from stash, painted in Mermaid Fresco paint edged with Inky Pool and a darker shade, which is a mix of Claret and Pea Coat. I then stamped bubbles in the same colour and stamped the leaves in a combination of Hyde Park and Limelight. Stamps are Jo Firth Young's JOFY 09.  I then stamped some of these stamps using Black Versafine on to Paperartsy Crackly Tissue, painted the back with previous colours, then went over with Snowflake and Mermaid. At first I thought I had messed up as I made a shadow of white around the stamping, but when it was on the canvass I liked the white outline. Then attached the tissue to the canvass using Fresco Satin Glaze. Back to the bubble stamp with Snowflake and that completed the canvas.

Linda Cain Take 2

Well I am happier with this today than I was last night, it was a disaster then, but now happy, the page (to me, like Linda's) appears to have folds in it which is what I was trying to achieve.

i got on fine with the Portfolio Oil Pastels, managed to break two of them but never mind they still work. Then I had a problem I could not think of anything I have that would seal this stage.  So didnt.  The stamping was using HP1006 using some Seedless Preserve and some Archival Black and again that was fine. Then I wanted to add to white dots that was a problem, anyway I did achieve with a Sakura Glaze pen but had to go over several times before I got the effect I wanted.  In the end I got a bit fed up with it and the bottom part of the picture  is White Opal Liquid Pearls, and the Moths are decorated with Ruby Red Liquid Pearls.  These Liquid Pearls have been sitting in the draw for years, but are being used again.

So here is a couple of pics.

Linda Cain Take 1

Thanks for the inspiration Linda, this blog challenge is certainly making me experiment!!!

So I started with a piece of white card and added Distress Inks Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge, Evergreen Bough and Seedless Preserves. Then using Mini 44 stamped over the background in Fresco Claret, then stamped the flower heads from HP1009 in black Versafine.  The bottom of the tag I stramped  in Snowflake. Stamped out the words and flower from this set and embossed then coloured with Claret and Autumn Fire.  I coloured the flowers with a combination of Autumn Fire and Snowflake to make them opaque.  The other flower coloured in Claret. A few fibres from the stash and there it is together with a bit of white pen work on the final black tag.  Heres a couple of pics.

Country View Crafts Challenge

Pick and Mix or anything goes.

So here is something very simple but I think effective created for this challenge.   I took a piece of coloured card stock and a stencil and laid texture paste through the stencil, when dry I coloured with Radiant Rains Colours, just some not all of the images so it left some white still showing and finished with vintage lace and a few coloured pearls.

Thank you for looking at my blog.

Crafters Comp.Challenge Vintage

Here is my entry for the Vintage Challenge for March.

I used Stamp it Australia Luscious Landscapes, I am pleased with this set of stamps they work for lots of occasions.  I started by using Distress Inks, Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo, on a piece of card, then stamped in black Stazon, lighten parts with water and spritzed with Radiant Rains Pearl Gold for a slight simmering look.  Finally mounted up on black and brown card. Hope you like, thanks for looking

Tim Holts Tattered Florals

Here is my entry for the Tattered Florals Challenge. This is my all time favourite die, I use it absolutely loads. These flowers are sprayed with various colours, embossed and they have been through an embossing folder and attached to a tag.  Hope you like.

Helen Chilton take 2

This one I am much happier with.  As I didnt have a piece of wood etc to work on I used my favourite Mountboard, as per instructions, I had already paint this tag once, I then gave it two coats of Paperartsy Satin Gloss and this worked really well, and it did not go soggy when I add layers of Mermaid, Lilac and instead of using white I used Cheesecake. And a little bit of sanding. I think my sandpaper is too fine will have to get some coarser.  The stamp again is Lin Browns and I stamped on the Crackly Tissue Paper, this works so much better than ordinary Tissue Paper. Finished off with more stamping in Distress Ink Picked Raspberry, ribbon died to match, a few beads and wire and finally Liquid Pearls.

Paperartsy a Tin Lid

Well this is not my best piece of work, but I have been inspired to have a good.  Helen Chilton is artist in residence this week over at the Paperartsy Blog, this is my take on her first piece which was to alter a tin box.  I only got as far as the lid. The paints are a combination of Sherbert, Mermaid, Butternut and I think there might be some Moonlight in there as well.  The stamps are from the lovely Lin Brown at Paperartsy in black archival.

My next attempt is better.

Craft Barn Letter M

My M is for Masquerade - lots of Dylusions sprays, Dylusions text and Creative Expressions Ladies, quite a mix really.  I do really like the lime green.

Paper engineering

These are two decorations/hangings which I will be making with my Thursday morning Craft group. They are very simple just cutting and sticking but they are very effective. There is a larger version and a smaller one. Thanks for looking.

Indigoblu Challenge - Blue

This is my entry for the Blue Challenge, does not need a lot of explanation, I used various colours of Blue Pan Pastels for the background, stamped with Versamark and added more blue. Layer up some of the flowers, added a sentiment and finished off with Ranger Liquid Pearls, had these ages but they seem to be making a come back.  Hope you like, thanks for looking.

Artistic Stamper - A Tag

Well here is my over the top tag. Lots of layers of stamping using various stamps including Lin Browns new stamps, Distressed Inks and embossed in gold.  I did manage to throw Ranger embossing solution down myjeans when doing this dont know if it will come out or not. Finished off with honeycomb paper flower (idea from this months Craft Stamper) and some wire and odd beads from you jewellery making stash.

And now for a bracelet

I finished this one off this afternoon, having been for a long walk this morning, and fish and chips at the pub, so now I am too tired to start on the garden.

So I stamped the Paperartsy butterfly from one of their sets of stamps on to clear shrink plastic, coloured in the butterflies shrunk and added with glass pearls on to a stretch bracelet.  Well pleased.

Backgrounds Suzz style

The challenge at Paterartsy this week was inspired by Suzz, she has a lovely style for making background papers, I really like this one, a plain piece of card stamp in Grey and Black in different levels and some of the stamped images shaded in colour.  Here is a pic of the background paper I made before making up into a card.

Here are two cards I made from the paper and still have some left over.
