Fragile Papers

This tag will be going into the Paperartsy Tag draw.  Itis done with a piece of decorated paper for the background which has been in the draw for years.  Then I took a piece of parchment and stamped out some petals from one of Ellen Vargo's stamp sets, I stamped in Purple and embossed in clear powder.  On the back I painted in Fresco paints to give more substance.  Final touches some Liquid Pearls and another piece of parchment on to which I stamp one of Darcy's Butterflies. Both Ellen and Darcy's stamps are from Paperartsy.

Yet More Shiny Stuff

More Shiny Stuff for the Paperartsy Blog, this time a made a masterboard from Fresco paints and some stamping. Then using a piece of toning paper I stamped out three of Lin Brown's butterflies. I edged each with Pebeo Mixtion Relief, this goes on white and dries clear and sticky, so when dry I covered with Foil.  The central butterfly I painted with Perfect Pearls but was not too keen on the results, so the others I left plain.  Added some embellishments and ribbon and there it is a different kind of shiny!!

January Calender Challenge

Here is my entry for the January Challenge, I hope I have done all that was asked for in the brief, done some crackle using Fresco Crackle, included some book text stamping, plus some stamping on tissue and adding it to the calender.  My idea was that the original page was of snowdrops so I decided to keep to a cold colour pallet in keeping with the month. My plan is to continue this style throughout the calender.

More Shiny Stuff

Thanks to Sue Carrington on the Paperartsy Blog for reminding me about these beautiful flowers I first learnt to make on one of Lin Brown's workshops.  Lin did wonderful things with metal and I have lots of pieces made with her hanging in my house.

This is a very simple tag and will end up in the Paperartsy Tag Swap later.   Just a piece of mountboard and some Paperartsy paper, plus a shape for a vase from JOFY's stamp set 23 which I put through an embossing folder and painted with Liquid Leaf Pewter and added the metal flowers which were die cut using Paperartsy Dies and some pearls from the land of stash.

Thanks for looking.  Margaret

All things shiny

Its all things that sparkle or metallic etc on the Paperartsy Blog for the next two weeks.  There is my first contribution.  My latest purchase was the JOFY stamp set JOFY23, which I stamped as a background and also stamped the flowers on the card, coloured with Fresco paints and cut out and layered on top of the base card.  I stamped out the vase from this set on to metal from way back when, even managed to find the tools to give some shape and of course it would not be complete without a butterfly.  As a final touch |I used a glue pen and added gilding flakes, firstly they looked too flat so with the add of a pokey tool I scratched a pattern into the gilding flakes now I like this!!!

Thanks for looking.  Margaret

Final two samples

Well I think they are my final two samples for the Workshop I am doing for Keep on Crafting on Thursday, but you never know there are still a few hours left today and I need to make a birthday card using this Retailer Special Pack.  For more info contact Mandy at the shop, The first picture is plain and simply a card, the second is a scrapbook page put into a frame, which started out life as boring brown!! But with a bit of Fresco paint etc etc it has had a new lease of life. It will soon be winging its way to my great niece (the little girl in the picture).

Thanks for looking.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Fragile Papers

Thiis is another card inspired by the Fragile Papers Project on the Paperartsy Blog.  This features a very simple panel of colour, some stamping with Darcy's Butterfly.  Then stamp again on bookprint and vellum.  The vellum is stamped and embossed.  I then added some special paper I found in the cupboard and my favourite accent Liquid Pearls to finish off.  Hope you like and thanks for looking.

Fragile Papers part 2

This Tea Light holder is one of my ideas for the Paperartsy blog for January using fragile papers. It is a tumbler covered in tissue with a little colouring, glitter and ribbon. I took inspiration from using tissue paper.

Thanks for dropping by.

Fragile papers

The challenge on the Paperartsy Blog is to use Fragile Papers, vellum, handmade papers, tissue etc etc. So I have come up with my own ideas.  Previously I posted my Tissue Tea Light Holder, this one is two cards made from Vellum, passed through an embossing folder and coloured on the back.  On the first card I used some paints I have had for ages, years infact, they have a nice sheen. On the second one I used Promarkers.

Off to see what else I can find!! at the back of the cupboard!!

Clean and Simple!!

I really like this sort of colouring and stamping, quick, easy and simple.  I just cant remember where I say this idea first, so my apologies for that, but it is not a Margaret original. All I did was to get a stamping block and cover with ink, I used Brilliance inks this time as I wanted a pearly finished and then sprayed the block with a little water, stamped down on to a piece of card.  I then took a Paperartsy stamp to add the flower and the words.  Finally edging the card with the same ink and added Liquid Pearls spots. Very quick and easy.

Thank you for looking.

Thursday Craft Group idea

This is a little make is for my Thursday morning craft group and as the schools go back I need to start planning.  Sorry but I cant remember where I got the idea from but I have adapted a bit to fit in with what I wanted to achieve.  It is very simple, just a piece of Tim Holtz printed tissue paper, coloured on the back with Promarkers, I used Mod Podge to attach to the glass and Mod Podge sparkle as a sealant on the top, a piece of ribbon and there it is.
