Foiling using stencils

So today I have been using stencils and foiling in a different way.

Firstly I took a stencil and drew around the inside of the stencil with ink pen.

The next step is to pass through the Kaleido foiling machine.  The first picture is a very simple card.

Second card is with some doodling or zen tangling inside the petal shapes.

Next card I coloured after foiling with some metallic water colour paint.

And finally I discovered that after foiling once I could foil inside the first lot of foiling by painting the area with the magic medium.

Well pleased 😍😍😍

Foiling

My Crafts Too Foiling machine recently arrived so I have been playing. First of all I am showing you one of my favourite ones.

One stencil three different looks. The first two are the positive and negative using the ink, applied with a sponge applicator. The last one I drew inside the stencil and then doodled inside. I really love the last one I will certainly do this again. I will be back with more ideas.

First how to!!!

Earlier today I posted my samples for the JND shows so now I will try and give you a bit more detail of how they were made.

First step I stamped and embossed in white embossing powder the background flower stamp and heat set, at the same time I stamped the butterfly in the same way. This is not the butterfly from the show but an earlier one from John Lockwood that works well.

Secondly I coloured in the flowers on the background and the detail on the butterfly with coloured pencils I usually try to stick to three colours.

To finish I mounted the layers on to a card, fussy cut the butterfly (I love fussy cutting) added a few pearls. A sentiment die and there  you are a different style!! Thanks for dropping by.

Samples made for John Next door

Here are some of my samples made for the One Day Special on Hochanda over the weekend. I will be picking out a few to explain how they have been done over the next few days so do pop back to get the finer details.
