Cards for men

I have always struggled with cards for men as I am sure lots of folk do.

These cards certainly fill this problem. I used various Pearl card from my stash and the presscut layering dies. It was a bit time consuming but worth the effort. Finished off with JND dies, I find these so useful.

Coloured Pencils

A couple of weeks ago I did a virtual workshop with Jo Firth Young (Jofy) using black card, coloured pencils, stencils, white pencils and white gel pens. I thought you might like to see some results.

Izink liquid pigment inks

This week I have been playing with liquid pigment inks. I have used these so far on glass and material. This post is about how I worked on material.  I used Pink Ink Stamps I have used these in the past with different mediums to colour and then embroidered . But this time I used Izink liquid inks from Crafts Too I used with water, applying a small amount of water and then ink and more water to blend. I have also applied some straight from the bottle using a very fine paint brush.

Washi Tape

I had forgotten how useful washi tape is, both for adding highlights and making backgrounds. For these two cards I took a piece of white card and firstly cover the card in washi tape using different colours to create a pattern. It is then easy to use as backgrounds and die cut etc. I have used mostly John Next Door dies and my favourite shape at the moment hexagon. Die set from Presscut.

Prescott Hexagon dies

Hi folks treated myself to the hexagon dies 18 dies in the set the larger ones will be great for scrapbooking, but here are two samples using the smaller ones. I taped three together as John Lockwood did in Craft Cave this week and built up using different colours. The cut really well and very pleased with my purchase!!

Wreath making

One of my favourite things is making wreaths for all occasions. Here is my latest efforts.

To start I wrapped a small hoop made from mountboard in garden string. To make the flowers I used a piece of patterned paper and then using Two Jays finger stamps added more pattern.

I then used one of John Next Door flower dies cut the flowers also using a piece of plain card as a contrast.

Added some ribbons and glue the flowers in place.

This is actually a sample for a workshop late this year.
